Jonathan Tibbs, a salesman from England, finds himself in the midst of a lawless town in the Wild West, caught between two rival gangs of cowboys. After mistakenly being mistaken for a hired gun, he gains a reputation as an ace 'quickdraw' and becomes the town's sheriff. Tibbs falls in love with the saloon owner, Kate, and they plan a life back in England. However, their plans are complicated by Tibbs' involvement in the war between the cowboy gangs and his unexpected membership in a local tribe. In the end, Tibbs and Kate are married, with the tribal chief giving the bride away, in a dramatic rescue mission.
