The Royal Visit background

The Royal Visit

The King and Queen of England embark on a royal tour of Canada, showcasing their charm and diplomacy as they interact with the Canadian people and celebrate the country's culture.

King George VI and Queen Elizabeth's 1939 Canadian tour took them across the country, starting in Quebec City and continuing westward by train to Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, and other cities. They then traveled back east, stopping in Vancouver, Jasper, Edmonton, and other locations before crossing into the United States to visit Washington D.C. and Niagara Falls. After returning to Canada, they visited New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, and finally departed from Halifax aboard the Empress of Britain.
