The Man Who Wouldn't Talk background

The Man Who Wouldn't Talk

A British lawyer takes on the challenging task of defending a American scientist accused of murdering his new bride, who was secretly working as a spy.

During the Cold War, an American scientist arrives in London to make contact with a defecting Hungarian scientist who possesses crucial information about a powerful virus developed in the East. The American, posing as a newlywed, meets with the Hungarian in a London subway station, but the meeting is monitored by enemy agents. After a violent confrontation, the American's "wife" is found shot dead, and he is accused of murder. With no help from the CIA, he must rely on a British barrister to clear his name and uncover the truth.
