Stella Bevan's father returns home after an unjust imprisonment, only to find himself embroiled in the death of a man caught with his second wife. Accused again, they flee to a South Pacific island, where Stella meets Trevethon, who falls in love with her. However, when the detective arrives, Stella believes Trevethon betrayed her father and rejects him. Trevethon later convinces the detective that Bevan has died, and they return as man and wife to reunite with Bevan.
