The Long Voyage Home

The crew of a merchant ship faces the grueling isolation of the open waters and the looming threat of war, as they struggle to stay alive and maintain their sense of humanity.

In the early days of World War II, a crew of isolated men embark on a perilous journey aboard the SS Glencairn, tasked with transporting explosive ammunition from the United States to London. As they navigate treacherous waters, they face a multitude of challenges, including drunken brawls, suspicious behavior, and tragic losses. Amidst the chaos, one crew member, Ole Olsen, played by John Wayne, longs to leave his troubled past behind and return to his native Stockholm, Sweden.
