John Kaddly grew up surrounded by live jazz music, his father a renowned saxophonist. Despite financial struggles, John dreamed of becoming a musician, specifically a drummer. His father instilled discipline, emphasizing the competitive nature of the music industry. John's estrangement from his parents began when his mother urged him to focus on his schooling, leading to a fight and his eventual drop-out. He found a construction job, but his music dreams remained elusive. He eventually got a steady music opportunity with his father's friend Miles, but faced challenges from his girlfriend Sara and his father's unexpected actions.
