In 1945, a Scottish soldier, Corporal Lachlan "Lachie" MacLachlan, is left severely injured in a M.A.S.H. unit in Burma after the war ends. As he recovers, he watches as his comrades pack up to return home, but is told by the doctors that he must remain in the unit for observation.

As World War II comes to a close, a critically injured corporal in a M.A.S.H. unit in Burma is left behind as his comrades prepare to return home, but he finds comfort in the care of a compassionate nurse and a small group of remaining soldiers.
