In a remote village, a man named Masht Hassan cherished his only cow as his own child. When he's away, the cow passes away, and the villagers secretly dispose of the body, telling Masht Hassan that it ran away when he returns. Overwhelmed with grief, Masht Hassan becomes reclusive, spending all his time in the barn, eating hay, and eventually loses touch with reality, believing he has transformed into the cow.
