In the animated film, Bugs Bunny sets his sights on the largest carrot crop in Alabama, but his journey is disrupted by Colonel Yosemite Sam, who has been instructed to prevent any Yankees from crossing the Mason-Dixon line.

Bugs Bunny attempts to cross the Mason-Dixon line while wearing brownface, singing two songs, including "Yankee Doodle", which angers Confederate Sam.
