Kamal, a talented dancer, strives to perform at an all-India competition despite his economic struggles. His dream is fulfilled with the help of Jayaprada, a wealthy girl who notices his talent. However, his mother's untimely death prevents him from realizing his goal. Kamal eventually falls in love with Jayaprada, but her marriage and subsequent divorce force him to sacrifice his feelings. He becomes a drunkard, and years pass by. Jayaprada's daughter, who is taught dance by Kamal, becomes a great dancer, while Kamal's life comes to an end, leaving a message that "There is no end to art".
