As Sheila Page's life unravels on New Year's Eve 1946, she makes a desperate wish to relive the year and correct her mistakes. But when her wish comes true, she finds that altering the past is far more complicated than she ever imagined.

In the film, Sheila's life takes a dramatic turn when she kills her husband at the beginning. The reason behind her actions is unclear, but it's evident that she's desperate to escape the chaos that ensues. As she navigates her way to a New Year's celebration, she meets William Williams, a poet played by Richard Basehart. During their conversation, she expresses her desire to relive the year and undo her mistakes.
