In a flooded pocket of New York City, human-like droids, created by robotics engineer Anton, are near-perfect replicas of humans. Anton's innovation, which made him and his wife rich, however, damaged their relationship and drove her away. His attempt to build a perfect replica of his wife backfires, bringing out the monster in the humans his robots were based on. The androids, known as "Bogies," begin to consider morality and poetry, and the humans' lives are rapidly dismantled.
