Three sisters, Sachi, Yoshino, and Chika, live together in their grandmother's house in Kamakura after their parents abandoned them. They're surprised to learn of their father's death and attend his funeral halfheartedly. However, during the funeral, they meet their 13-year-old half-sister Suzu, who captures their hearts. Sachi decides to take Suzu in, sensing that their father's widow, Yoko, would not be a suitable guardian.
