A young couple in pre-war Italy welcomes a baby boy, but the father's jealousy towards his son sets off a chain of events. The child is taken to the desert, where he is rescued and raised by the King and Queen of Corinth as their own. Later, an oracle reveals that Edipo is fated to kill his father and marry his mother, leading him to flee his supposed parents and ultimately become embroiled in a deadly confrontation on the road.
