Lucky Devils background

Lucky Devils

In the movie, Skipper Clark and his friends engage in daring stunts, such as smashing through skylights, tumbling down staircases, and jumping from a high rooftop into a waiting convertible, but they refuse to fall in love.

A group of stuntmen at a Hollywood studio, known as the "Lucky Devils," share a motto: "A stuntman makes a bad husband and a husband makes a bad stuntman." This becomes apparent when Slugger Jones dies during his last stunt after getting married. Two stuntmen, Skipper Clark and Bob Hughes, save a down-and-out woman, Fran, from suicide and help her land a job at the studio. Skipper marries Fran, but their relationship suffers when he freezes during a stunt after she signals him to stop, putting his friend Bob in danger.
