Three friends, Shuzo Taguchi, Soichi Mamiya, and Seiichiro Hirayama, gather for their friend Shuzo Miwa's memorial service and reminisce about his widow, Akiko Miwa, who they find increasingly beautiful with age. The friends decide to find a suitable husband for Akiko's 24-year-old daughter, Ayako, who they believe is as beautiful as her mother and deserves a good partner.
