Shou's life in Tokyo is stagnant, consumed by drinking and pornography. His father asks him to clean out his aunt Matsuko's apartment, which is a treasure trove of secrets. As Shou uncovers his aunt's story, he learns about her troubled past, marked by neglect, abuse, and a series of failed relationships. Despite her struggles, Matsuko found solace in her students and later, a life of crime.
