In 19th century Shanghai, brothers Ma Wing Jing and Ma Tai Chueng seek fortune at the end of the Qin Dynasty. Wing Jing befriends a powerful mobster, Tam Sei, and is rewarded with a nightclub after saving his life. However, a rival gangster also desires the territory, leading to a violent struggle between the two groups, as well as corrupt police officials.
