Renato, a successful airplane manufacturer, is about to get married, but his fiancée Pamela is concerned about his lack of emotional support for her son, Emilio, who is bullied at school. Renato's issues stem from his own feelings of abandonment when his father, Flavio, left Mexico for the US in 1994, promising to return but never did. When Flavio, now named Frank, contacts Renato on his deathbed, Pamela encourages him to visit to address his anti-social issues. However, Renato's plans are disrupted when his father reveals that all will be explained by solving a puzzle, which also leads to his half-brother Asher, a seemingly privileged slacker. Renato must work through his anger issues and reconcile with his past to make it back to his wedding on time.
