In a luxurious family villa overlooking the ocean, Elisa, a young woman from a working-class background, becomes engaged to a wealthy industrialist 20 years her senior. As she prepares to leave her humble roots behind, she discovers that her new life comes with the added responsibility of her fiancé's two teenage children, Diego and Andrea.
