In an animated TV special based on popular fantasy books rooted in Irish folklore, young hunter Oisin finds himself on a quest to save the fairy kingdom. After straying from his family's hunt, Oisin discovers a beautiful fairy princess who asks for his help. Her father, the fairy king, has inadvertently brought his shadow to life, and it now threatens to destroy the land by feeding on darkness and preparing an army of trolls and witches. With the king's assistant, shape-shifting Puck, Oisin must locate the shadow's dark castle and stop its evil plans before it's too late.
