Alex Stillman, a recent law school graduate, is miserable as a junior clerk in his demanding father's firm, but finds solace as a highly skilled online poker player. He's approached by legendary Tommy Vinson, who's retired from the game for 20 years, to coach Alex in exchange for half of his winnings in Las Vegas. As they train, focusing on bluffing and underhanded tactics, their relationship becomes strained when Alex is mistreated by a girl hired by Vinson. Eventually, they both qualify for the world tour grand final.
