In a near-future world, a corporation called Zircon in Seattle has created a virtual reality prison for criminals, but its designer, Steven Falcon, begins to worry about the system's vulnerability to hackers and the risk of it collapsing. When Falcon threatens to leave the operation, he's targeted for murder and must enter the Matrix-like virtual reality world to uncover the source of the danger.
