A widower, Subhamoy, is desperate to see his son, Gaurav, succeed in life, but Gaurav's lack of interest in studies and passion for cricket is a source of tension between them. After Gaurav fails in school and is refused permission to sit for his exams, Subhamoy's frustration boils over, leading to a violent outburst that puts Gaurav in a coma. Meanwhile, Subhamoy becomes a local hero for speaking out against the system and later impresses the Chief Minister with his bravery and charisma. Eventually, Gaurav makes a successful recovery and returns to playing cricket, hitting a century on his comeback.
