In the 1970s, the Unity Fields cult's leader Harris sets their old house ablaze with gasoline, killing all members except Cynthia Weston, who falls into a coma. Thirteen years later, Cynthia awakens and is admitted to a mental institution for rehabilitation and physical therapy. She joins a group therapy session with Dr. Alex Karmen, but he doubts the treatment is suitable for her. As Cynthia recovers, she begins experiencing visions of Harris, who seems to be manipulating her into self-destruction.
