Two acquaintances, known as "The Prey," are dropped off in the Canadian wilderness each episode, with a map leading to a starting point and a 40-kilometer destination. They have 36 hours to reach the end point, using any route and method they choose. Meanwhile, "Mantracker" Terry Grant and his sidekick, who changes each episode, will try to catch the prey on horseback using their expert tracking skills before they reach the finish line.
