The demon king has fallen and the victorious hero party returns home before dissolving. Four mages—Frieren, Himmel, Heiter, and Eisen—are reminiscing about their ten-year odyssey as they prepare for the moment when they must say goodbye to each other. Elves see this as a natural part of life's passage, with Frieren witnessing her companions slowly fading away one by one. Before his death, Heiter manages to hand over a young human apprentice named Fern to Frieren. With an elf’s passion for collecting myriad magic spells, the duo embarks on a seemingly aimless journey, revisiting the places where heroes from yesteryear had traveled. Along their travels, Frieren begins to confront her regrets of missed opportunities to form closer bonds with her now departed comrades.
