In 1907 Central America, Maria II, daughter of an Irish terrorist, joins a circus and becomes a singer, befriending Maria I. Her debut performance inadvertently invents the strip-tease, catapulting the circus to fame. As fate would have it, they cross paths with a socialist revolutionary, and together they unwittingly spark a revolution against the dictator, capitalists, and the Church.
