Ann Mason, an undercover magazine reporter, infiltrates a neo-fascist organization that recruits disgruntled war veterans with a populist message. She becomes secretary to the organization's leader, True Dawson, a charismatic con artist who uses the members' funds and manpower for his own gain. As she gathers evidence, she must evade suspicion from Fred Stalk, one of Dawson's enforcers, who is attracted to her but also wary of her true intentions.
