Jing, a naive schoolgirl, is forced to relocate to a remote village for "re-education" during China's Cultural Revolution. Her father is imprisoned for being a "rightist" and her mother struggles to feed their three children. Jing's future and family depend on their good behavior, as any mistake could ruin their lives.
