Three Daughters background

Three Daughters

Three short films bring to life pivotal moments in the lives of three young girls, inspired by the renowned Indian writer Rabindranath Tagore's iconic stories.

An anthology film, "Teen Kanya" is a tribute to Rabindranath Tagore's centenary, featuring three short stories with interconnected female characters. The original Indian release includes "The Postmaster", where an orphan girl forms a bond with the postmaster she cares for after he teaches her to read and write. The film also features "Samapti", a story about a young man who falls in love with an unconventional girl from his new village instead of his arranged bride.
