A 24-year-old kindergarten teacher from Harlem is swept away to the magical Land of Oz after a snowstorm, where she embarks on a journey to find her way home with the help of a powerful wizard. Along the way, she befriends creatures facing their own struggles and must also contend with the evil sister of a wicked witch she inadvertently killed upon arrival.
