When Chief Ironside retires, he's eager to run his vineyard with his wife. However, his friend Ed Brown, now with the Denver police, asks him to temporarily fill a vacant chief position after a colleague's untimely death. Complications arise when Suzanne, the daughter of Ironside's friend, is accused of murdering her boyfriend, whom she suspected of cheating. Despite evidence against her, Ironside refuses to believe she's guilty and enlists the help of old friends Mark and Fran. The case may be connected to the previous chief's murder, and it seems someone in the department is involved.
