At the end of the 19th century, Petersburg was enthralled by occult sciences and esotericism. Medium Olivia Reed arrives in the Russian Empire's capital, drawing crowds to her public spiritualistic sessions. Meanwhile, a series of gruesome ritual murders takes place in the city, with girls abducted and mutilated bodies found throughout. Police officer Rostov and his assistant Ganin investigate, but with each new victim, the case becomes increasingly puzzling.
