He is haunted by the memory of drowning his little sister in the bath and is convinced that his nanny, who he despises, was responsible. When his mother is mysteriously poisoned, suspicion falls on the nanny, but Joey is adamant that she is guilty. As the investigation unfolds, the only one who believes Joey's claims is his upstairs neighbor, a kind-hearted girl who sees the truth behind his words.
