Two corrupt villagers, Tirpat Singh and MLA Durga Pandey, manipulate the residents of a rural Indian village to benefit themselves. They focus on separating two brothers, Abhay and Vinay, by exploiting their relationships with their wives and father. Abhay leaves his wife Chandravati to become an ascetic, while Vinay's construction business is swindled by the duo. Chandravati falls ill and moves in with Rambaran Manto, with whom she has an illicit relationship. Vinay discovers the truth about Tirpat and Durga and distances himself from them. Tragically, Vinay is murdered, leaving his wife Ketki as the only witness.
