In the 11th century, Pope Urban II calls for a crusade against the Saracens who occupy Jerusalem. Three friends, Richard, Peter, and Andrew, from different backgrounds, join the crusade. As the violent methods of the crusaders cause tension, the friends fall out and go their separate ways. Peter and Richard accompany a Jewish woman named Rachel to Jerusalem, where they face a tense situation. After Richard is arrested, Peter joins the Saracens to save him, and the city falls to the Christians. The former friends face each other as enemies.
The Crusaders
In the late 11th century, three childhood friends - a bell founder, a baron's son, and a shepherd - embark on a journey to join the Crusades, inspired by the stories of soldiers returning from Jerusalem.
