After a brutal battle, Federal troops occupy Atlanta and plan to use the city's remaining goods to outfit their army for the March to the Sea, hoping to end the War Between the States. Confederate spies, disguised as Yankees, infiltrate the warehouse district to assess the available supplies. They discover a vast amount of goods and the Confederate command orders the destruction of the entire district, leaving hundreds of families homeless.
