Ted Andrews' motivations remain unclear, but a troubled childhood, depression, and loneliness may have contributed to his actions. He used his phone and telescope to spy on neighbors, fueling his desire for perversion. Obsessed with a woman of high social standing, he devised a plan to degrade her, threatening to harm her 10-year-old son if she didn't comply. The woman eventually agreed to perform for him, and he later forced her to meet him at a motel, where he completed his act of degradation.
