Boris Arkadin, a renowned horror film director, is haunted by the gruesome murder of his pregnant wife at the hands of a group of hippie psychopaths in the 1960s. Years later, he returns to the spotlight by creating snuff-inspired movies, inviting actors to an audition at his secluded country estate. As the lines between reality and fiction blur, a sinister game of cat and mouse ensues.
