A hypochondriac man mistakes a dying patient's diagnosis for his own and believes he has only two weeks to live. He keeps his supposed terminal illness a secret, fearing his wife will worry, and instead tries to find her a new partner. However, when he finally reveals his supposed condition, his wife discovers it's a lie and believes it's just a ruse to hide an affair, leading her to leave him.
