In the 1950s, rock and roll sweeps the globe, but in Russia, it's strictly forbidden. Against this backdrop, Alexi, a talented teenager, receives rock records from his traveling uncle and teams up with his friend to produce bootleg copies. As their illegal business flourishes, Alexi finds himself smitten with the minister's daughter. However, their love is threatened when the KGB discovers the records' popularity and views it as a national security risk.
