Teenager David Roberts spends the summer on his grandfather's sheep farm on the Isle of Man after being orphaned in America. Despite their initial dislike, they bond over their love for dogs, particularly Adam's prized sheepdog Bob. David befriends Maggie, the daughter of their friendly neighbor, but their relationship is complicated by Adam's longstanding feud with the Moore family over a past tragedy. As a series of mysterious sheep killings occurs, neighbors suspect Bob and the Moore's dog are behind the attacks.
