My Best Friend's Wife

In the late 1970s, the era of freedom and experimentation has given way to the blandness of modern life. Steve and Eric, two average guys, are struggling to come to terms with their mundane lives in suburban New Jersey. They're stuck in a rut, feeling like they're just going through the motions, and their wives Ami and Claire are dealing with their own issues. Steve is offered a job in San Francisco, but it's not the thrill he's looking for. He's torn between staying in Freehold and taking a chance on something new. Meanwhile, Ami wants to be a mother, but her passive-aggressive mother refuses to accept it. Eric is stuck in a comfortable but unfulfilling marriage and is joking about missing out on life experiences. Steve comes up with a plan to shake things up and make their wildest dreams come true, but it's not as simple as it sounds. Will they be able to move on with their lives and accept their age, or will going through with it destroy their marriages and friendships?
