In 1988-1989, the Soviet-Afghan war comes to a close as the USSR begins its withdrawal from Afghanistan. When Soviet pilot Alexander, son of General Vasiliev, is kidnapped by the mujahideen after a plane crash, the 108th motorized infantry division's long-awaited return home is put on hold for one final mission: to rescue the General's son.
