In a post-mortem twist, Dr. Victor Frankenstein's creature buries him in his family's cemetery, only to be attacked by demons. Gargoyles intervene, taking him to a cathedral where he meets the Queen, Leonore, and learns of an ancient war between angels and demons. The creature, named Adam, is invited to join the Gargoyles, but instead isolates himself. Two centuries later, Adam returns to a modern world, where he discovers a sinister plot by Prince Naberius to create an army of soulless corpses.
