A Hollywood superstar seeks refuge from the constant attention of his adoring fans by enlisting the help of a laid-back Hawaiian plantation owner to assume his identity for a short period.

Movie star Brooks Mason escapes to Hawaii for a relaxing vacation, only to have his identity mistaken with plantation owner George Smith. They decide to switch lives, but things get complicated when Mason falls in love with dancer Dorothy March, while Smith is stuck with Mason's agent and his wealthy fiancée's disapproving father.
