Raju, a young orphan, survives by performing with his four elephant companions at street corners. He eventually builds a private zoo, befriending various animals, including tigers, lions, and bears. Raju meets Tanu, and they fall in love, marrying despite initial opposition from Tanu's father. However, their relationship becomes strained as Tanu grows resentful of Raju's devotion to his animal friends, and her fears intensify when their child is born, leading Raju to face an impossible choice between his loved ones and his animal companions.
