In a desperate attempt to secure his family's future, a Chicago cabbie named Mitch Lawrence is forced to reevaluate his morals after being diagnosed with inoperable stomach cancer. He initially declines a job offer from a client to eliminate a drug dealer, but later accepts it to ensure his wife and unborn child's well-being. As a result, his cancer mysteriously disappears, and he finds himself entangled in a dark underworld where morality is a luxury few can afford.
