In the southern Spanish city of Sevilla, two friends, El Culebra and El Cabesa, struggle to find success and luck in their lives. As they approach their 30s, they decide to pull off their biggest heist yet: a bank robbery, inspired by the exploits of notorious thief Dionisio Rodríguez Martín. However, their plan is complicated when they encounter Fermín, a businessman who threatens to self-immolate and demands TV cameras to broadcast his dire financial situation. As the police surround the bank, El Culebra and El Cabesa are forced to take hostages and escalate the situation, turning the robbery into a full-blown kidnapping. A TV news reporter among the hostages secretly connects with the public, unwittingly turning the crisis into a media spectacle. As the standoff unfolds, the hostages are divided between those who try to escape and those who stay to support Fermín's plight. Despite the police's efforts to negotiate a resolution, the tension builds, and the situation spirals out of control.
